The Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone?s price and release date have been revealed by Cricket Wireless and it will be available off-contract from November 23. After the LG Optimus Regard, this flagship device from the South Korean manufacturer is the second 4G LTE-enabled phone to have been launched by this service provider.
It is slated to go up for sale through the official website, company-owned retail stores and other authorized resellers. Available without a two-year customer agreement, the handset requires users to sign up for a 4G LTE Android Double Data service plan. Customers can choose between $50, $60 and $70 monthly rentals which offer 2GB, 5GB and 10GB of full speed data, respectively.
Measuring 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 millimeters, the Galaxy S3 tips the scales 133 grams. Its front panel accommodates a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED multi-touch display which claims to project high definition visuals in 1280 x 720p resolution. Along with the screen, its front side also houses a 1.9MP webcam to facilitate video conferencing and HD video recording at 30 frames per second.
Featuring 16GB onboard memory, this Samsung smartphone has a microSD card slot to increase the storage by up to 64GB. It acquires multitasking properties from a 1.5GHz dual core processor which works in tandem with 2GB of RAM. The phone takes advantage of the Ice Cream Sandwich platform and may receive the Jelly Bean OTA update very soon.
Additionally, the handset boasts of an 8MP rear camera with auto focus, LED flash, a BSI sensor and zero shutter lag. It can also be employed for the purpose of shooting movies. Besides Google Mobile services, the device tags along attributes like S Beam, S Voice, Smart stay, AllShare Play, Pop up play, Buddy photo share, Smart alert and Direct call to name a few. It draws power from a 2100mAh lithium-ion battery.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 from Cricket will be up for sale for a price of $549.99 (approx. Rs. 30,325) from November 23.
