Iowa's armless archer competes in London

Iowa archer Matt Stutzman won his first round competition in the Paralympic Games Friday in London.

Stutzman competed at the?Royal Artillery Barracks on day two of the Paralympics. ?He won 6-5 over Jiri Klich of the Czech Republic.

His next competition is the quarterfinals on Sept. 2. ?He faces American Dugie Denton.

Stutzman, of Fairfield, was born without arms. ?At age 16, he got his first bow and arrow and now he's a member of the USA Paralympics team.

The Paralympic Games are an international multi-sport event where athletes with a physical disability compete.

Five members of Stuzman's family, including his wife and parents, are in London for the games.

The Paralympic Games run Aug. 29 to Sept. 9. You can watch the games on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/USParalympics.
